Nashshon Wright, who led the NFL in takeaways as a member of the Bears last year, won’t be coming back to Halas Hall.

He agreed to sign a one-year, $5.5 million contact to join the Jets, NFL Network reported Tuesday.

Wright was the great surprise of the Bears’ season. One year after he failed to play a single defensive down for the Vikings, Wright signed with the Bears as a depth piece and to reunite with defensive backs coach Al Harris. Jaylon Johnson’s injury on the eve of training camp gave Wright the chance to play meaningful snaps in training camp and he impressed the coaching staff.
