RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The University of San Francisco baseball team (8-8) opened its three-game road series with a 7-3 loss at UC Riverside (5-13) Friday afternoon at the Riverside Sports Complex.

- UC Riverside opened the scoring in the second inning and built a 5-0 advantage through four innings of play.
- San Francisco trimmed its deficit in the top of the fifth inning when Zach Nagy recorded an infield single, scoring Jayden Garison to get within 5-1. Jared Lewis plated two runs later on with a double to left-center field to cut the Highlanders' lead to 5-3.
